Projects
1. Pantry
Currently, we have a small pantry in the kitchen but need more cabinet space. We decided we don't need the coat closet as much as we need a pantry. So Brandon and his dad cut a hole in the kitchen wall that would lead to the back of the coat closet in the hallway. They took off the door on the closet and put it in the kitchen and than drywalled the hallway where the closet use to be. It looks awesome and now we have a huge pantry in the kitchen. They did such a great job! Oh, and I didn't mention they did this in the 95 degree heat on Saturday. is working really hard to get the house ready for our family.KITCHEN BEFORE

2. Painting the bookcase that will go in Baby Girl's room
3. Remodeling the kitchen
Here is when I come in :). I helped Brandon research countertops. If you know us at all you know we take FOREVER to make a decision. So after hours of talking about counter top surfaces granite vs. Corian, undersinks or integrated sinks, colors and back splashes, we finally came up with a decision... Corian counter tops with an integrated sink! I visited the showroom last week and picked out the back splash title and pattern (subway style).
Corian vs. Granite????
We liked the integrated sink option and with granite we would have to go with an under mounted sink. So we went with corain- beige fieldstone is the color.
We will do a tile back splash. 3X6 tile, subway style.
Next step in this project is to take out the counter tops and appliances so Precision Counter tops can come in and install our new counter tops :). We are so excited for this change!
4. Brandon added more storage under the stairs
We have a closet that opens up to a space under the stairs. We realized we could cut a whole in the wall of the closet and extend the storage space. Brandon spent Sunday doing this.
Brandon made a whole and is removing studs and nails to make the space usable.
Trimming drywall to finish the space.
The closet now has more storage!!!
5. Floors
We are in the process of choosing a flooring material and color. We plan on taking the carpet out downstairs in the next week or two and replacing it with either laminate or hardwood. To be continued...
6. Our little girl
Last but certainly not least, while Brandon is making the house more functional and look better, I am cheering him on all while making lungs and brain cells for a human being :).
Enjoy!
